This is a signathon for our corporate radiation petition and other petitions at the main Pittsfield library, the Berkshire Athenaeum at 1 Wendell Avenue, in the auditorium. Stop by and sign the ones you like, or sign all because we’re volunteers and you can decide later with more time!
We may have some light snacks. Here are some of the petitions – we may have more:
- Corporate Radiation Limits [requires corporations to limit exposures to useless wireless radiation transmissions and fields from electricity (printable at lasttreelaws.com see home page for more info)].
- Free replacement of smart meters with analogs (helps privacy, provides surge protection, reduces bill miscalculations, and stops strong wireless radiation exposures)
- Legislative Stipend Reform (legislative $bonus given only with transparency & work)
- Rent control (limits rent increases from large landlords to just 5% or consumer price index increase, whichever is lower)
- Retaining local control of zoning not connected to affordable or low-income housing (petition #3 is not related to low-income or affordable housing, would help locals say no to polluting facilities; #5 increases transparency and time for local zoning changes; printable at noway3a dot org).
- Utility petitions (2) to increase transparency and reduce extra costs [right now utilities are charging everyone to fund private wind turbines, solar anywhere, data center discounts & data center infrastructure (last is extremely expensive); to give bonus money to individuals to buy electric cars; to meet their target profits; etc. – the legislature and DPU are failing with accounting and to rein this in]
- Local zoning control related to housing (petition U stops dense development state mandates set in MBTA communities, protecting green space, parking, traffic, historic development, reducing sewer runoff; petition #4 to limit the number of state-mandated units to 10 on an acre, the same reasoning applies – printable at noway3a dot org)
- TENTATIVE – other petitions if available.
