In 2025 we in Massachusetts still cannot get a meeting with Senator Markey (on the telecommunications committee who agreed to meet then cancelled) and also need to meet with other legislators. We need your help and your membership to show them that constituents care and to get them to understand this issue. Some phone numbers are listed below – call!

REASONS TO CALL

Bills have been advancing in the federal legislature that would remove local control and permit denial of wireless infrastructure completely, and which continue to promote wireless instead of safer wired services.

The big ‘Trump’ bill included provisions to auction additional spectrum. This spectrum is to be used for military, data collection, AI, and job automation. For example, the oceans are being wired for wireless signals including with unusually powerful energy cables. These electromagnetic signals have been proven to impair the health of ocean life from bacteria on up. Regular people don’t care about or need a wireless ocean – but short-sighted, monied interests are driving this investment.
