Several bills are advancing in the federal legislature that would remove environmental review of telecommunications and IT infrastructure, as well as remove local control and permit denial of wireless infrastructure completely. Several bills advanced in the house, for example, when Republicans voted in bloc for advancement while Democrats all voted against. These bills have the support of the captured FCC and industry, and lobbyists are meeting with legislators.
